Green IT
In a topic Green IT a person called Michelle Hazelton is researching green IT for the Ethical Property Company.  He starts his research process even though it was challenging and frustrating, he was always extremely interested in his work. He has adopted an approach whereby positive changes can be implemented with little cost and modest effort. So he conducted an audit of the company’s IT equipment and energy consumption. It was general practices adopted for purchasing and recycling and peoples’ general understanding of green IT. After establishing his starting point he conduct monitoring process over a number of weeks in order to gain an understanding of both the time periods when energy consumption was highest and how much was actually consumed in those periods. After researching he revealed that about sixty percentage of the building’s energy is consumed when the building is mostly unoccupied, namely overnight and at weekends. He concluded that PC power consumption can be split into three categories: off, idle and load. PC and monitor that have been switched off still draw on average twenty watts of power. It was just like a leaving a lamp on every night and every weekend all the time. It proved that amount of energy is being wasted when the building is mostly unoccupied. Then he just moved forward for the solution so, he encourages people to switch off equipment at the plug before they leave the office. He contacted numerous of organizations to gain knowledge and understand how to calculate the embedded carbon foot print of IT devices but unfortunately nothing was returned to him. To be truly green, through IT, we will need to take into account all aspects of the processes involved with manufacturing and shipping. His advice to people who are just starting to implement green IT to get easily started by spending a little time investigating current energy consumption, recycling and purchasing practices. By taking a meter reading at the start and end of the working day, is an effective way of identifying how much energy is being used when the office is unoccupied.
PC energy calculator is the device in which we can calculate the total power consumption by the PC in the ON- mode, Sleep-mode and OFF-mode per day, month and years. This calculator also displays total cost of the power that we have used in a day. If we are using the printer and modem than also we can add it and calculate the power loss by them too. The calculator also shows the total electricity consumed in year.

Personal Development For Computing By Sanjiv Udash

Personal Development For Computing By Sanjiv Udash

On my first week of college, I had a lecture for the module Personal Development for Computing by SanjivUdash. In our first lecture he gave short descriptions about his educational background. After that he just moved forward to the module and starts to describe about the module. He provided us different ideas, rules and regulation which are necessary during the semester for getting excellent grade in the module. On Tuesday I had a tutorial class for the module. In tutorial class Sanjiv sir has provided me a worksheet paper. The worksheet is about the abilities that a Computing graduate student should acquire during their source. There are seventeen points in the worksheet which must be possessed in a computing graduate student. Out of seventeen points I have to explain one of point in lab and make understandable to my entire friend.
The classes in week first for the module Personal  Development for Computing was very important because all the classes is very fruitful to make a strong base for the semester, Sanjiv Sir has provided sufficient stuff for the module. In tutorial classes I get chance to understand all the problems that I don’t understood in lecture. In the lab I get a chance to do all my work practical which make the class’smemorial for long time. In lab I have to explain my point in front of all my friends which helps me to develop the skills of speak up in the mass, which is very helpful in my future prospects.
In first week, I got lots of chances to study new things. The way of studying is totally different than my previous academic classes. The classes are totally practical and it is very helpful to us to compete in the real world scenario I gain lots of the ideas and method to overcome the problems to get a perfect grade in module. So, the whole classes in week first are very important to make a strong base for the module.
